It is finished!

I had two final class parties today. My students did a great job at creating parties. They brought a beautiful and delicious cake to the first class. We had a "cutting ceremony". Evidently there is some meaning behind cutting the cake. I'm not sure what it is. There is a cake "cutting ceremony" at Korean weddings. The couple cuts the cake together during the ceremony and no one ever eats it. I cut the cake today and we ate almost all of it! In the last class--my very last class with KNU students--we had a pizza party. As I walked out the door after the last student had received her grade I couldn't help but thing, "It is finished!"

Now onto meeting my parents at the airport to welcome them to Asia and Korea! Tomorrow! As I write they are about to board a plane from Kona to Honolulu and later today they'll fly to Incheon, S. Korea. Goodbye Hawaiian paradise and hello land of high rises. What a contrast! I'm like a kid in a candy shop. I can't wait to see them and be with them as they experience a taste of this "world".
