I'm about to leave this "paradise" for HoChiMinh City/Saigon which is another crazy big city. I thought that Hanoi was the motorbike capitol of the world. Yet I've read that HCM City is the real Motorbike world capitol. Oh joy. Get ready, get set, go! These past 6 days have been the unexpected, very much unplanned and much enjoyed highlight of my trip. I was surprised by the joy of just being and playing in one place. It is so isolated that I had no options except for enjoying the facilities. I didn't complain! It has been even more surprising to find how much I could enjoy my own company. (and the company of some good reading) I will look for this kind of vacation in the future.

Above and Below are the grounds of the White Sands Beach Resort where I've spent the last 6 days. If you ever in S. E. Asia and want a quiet place that is located in what feels to be "the middle of nowhere" this is the place!

The beach is nice but when the cleaning crew has to come out and pick up the gobs of trash (everyday!) you know something isn't right. The white sand in front of the resort property is clean but only because of the hardwork of employees. On both sides of the resort the beaches are disasters. There is definately a garbage problem! So is swimming really safe? I'll enjoy the sounds of the waves and take a dip in the pool thank you!

Not a bad place to sit and read N.T. Wright's "Challenge of Jesus". 30 minutes after this picture was taken we had big down poor--a ton of rain.
Can someone answer my questions, "Why do people enjoy sun bathing in the nude?" Is it really "fun"? And "Why do people sun bathe in the nude in very conservative countries where that kind of thing is not appropriate?" Ha, I had to remind myself today that I wasn't in Europe.
