Nha Trang: Stop

I've been in Nha Trang for 2 days. I flew out from Hanoi with expectations of finding a quieter and slower pace. I've found it. After a day in the city of Nha Trang--an exhausted day I might add--I found my way to the splurge of this 6 week adventure. I'm now at a Resort--"White Sands Beach Resort and Spa". The title just sounds divine. It is almost everything I hoped it would be. White sand, a pool, a clean and beautiful room, the ocean within sight from my room, and good food. The only disappointment is that the satellite t.v. isn't showing Wimbledon! I'm going to miss the men's and women's finals! Last summer I fell in love with Wimbleton when I studied up in Seoul. I was excited to watch some of the games this past week in Hanoi and Nha Trang. I guess if not getting to watch Wimbleton's finals is the only down point of this beautiful and restful place I'll manage. (sarcasm) I will definately do more than manage. For the next several days I'm in stop mode. I can't think of a better place to spend the July 4th weekend.

July 4th couldn't have been more different. I didn't speak much English and didn't even talk to another person from the USA. This July 4 will do down as the most uniquie one of my life. But I wasn't too disappointed. I was in a place overlooking the ocean at a resort. I'll take that as a wonderful trade off.

I must admit it is a little odd to be at a resort solo! I must be the only one here without another person. It feels on the one hand like I shouldn't be here. You don't go to resorts alone! Yet ont he other hand it is exactly where I want to be-at a resort. I'm going to enjoy everything too.

I notice that there are mostly Vietnamenese people staying here. Others are Europeans and usually speak French.

Off to the pool and my book.

On a walk on the beach I found these kids and this? fishing tool? Not sure but it looks like a kind of raft.
