English Camp--Hilarious Kids

My job at KNU is over.  We finished English Camp tonight with a talent show and later a pizza party.  (I sprinted to my room after everything finished to catch the Olympic Opening Ceremony.)  Thank God camp is over.  And thank God for such a great two weeks with wonderful kids.  The students gave me a pile full of thank you cards. Some made me read them in their presence as they looked on with great pride.  They were so fascinated by how tall I am. All week I tried convincing them that I'm actually quite short( in my family).  They didn't buy it.  I have to share some of the funny comments on the cards.

Mitchell wrote,  "Your very tall.  When I saw you first I am very surprised.  Because you are very tall.  You're not short, you have confidence.  You think every day, 'I am tall'.  'I am tall'.  Than your are taller than everyone."
(Wouldn't that be something if it worked this way!)

Tony wrote, "I hope that I grow up as tall as you. I'll drink milk."

Michelle wrote, "I met many teachers and friends.  But in foreign teacher I like you all most."
(At least she didn't hate me.)

Hannah wrote, "I think you are a best teacher because if you teach I am not sleepy and board.  You are very very tall.  So I am hurt my neck."
(I'm giving kids neck pain but at least I don't turn them into boards!)

Caley wrote, "Korean women's leg very short.  Some strange...and your every day smile face.  I'm happy you're taller elf.  Thank you!"
(Is my smile strange?  Are my legs strange?  Or is it Korean's woman that are strange? A tall elf...is that what I look like? Has anyone ever seen a tall elf?)

I fly to Kansas City on August 28!  (revised)

The elves on Lord of The Rings are tall and blond. He probably saw that too.
