Disneyland With Mom

Matterhorn Ride
It all started a week ago.  My mom invited me to lunch.  We talked about plans for the weekend.  The women's retreat we had planned on was canceled. Camping was out due to rain in the forecast. Movie and dinner on Friday? Trip to Sacramento? Disneyland came up in conversation.  Yet when the topic came up I never dreamed we'd go.  Maybe we'd go in the next year or so.

The next morning  we left for So. Cal and on Friday we were at Disneyland.    Disneyland!!!  It is my mom's favorite place on the planet.  She knows it like the back of her hand.  She becomes a conquering maniac--must go on all rides! She is fun to go with because you just have to follow her lead. (and tell her to slow down) We were pleased by very short lines and a beautifully pleasant day.  Most rides we only waited 5 minutes. Disneyland, unlike other theme parks, creates a story and when you step into the ride's line you enter a ride narrative.  I hadn't been to Disneyland in more than 10 years.  I'd forgotten how nice the rides and experience is. The park was decked out for Halloween and I found that incredibly fun.

Saturday was spent with family in So. Cal and the Sunday we returned to Redding.  It was a whirlwind trip.
